Hop on board with me and YahooShine to take my  "55 Things You Don't Need After All" Spring Cleaning Challenge  (sung to the tune of 100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall). Every day this week from Monday to Friday, I’ll give you two decluttering assignments.   Each day's challenge can be completed in under one hour.  By the end of the week, you’ll be 55 items lighter. And the fun part is that we’ll tackle all forms of clutter—not just clothes, magazines and papers, but also schedule and habit clutter—anything weighing you down, holding you back, keeping you stuck.   It’s a great way to get your spring cleaning started!

And don't worry....if you can't carve out the :30-:60 minutes each day this week, you can still participate---just save the assignements for when you do have time...on the weekend or next week..whenever you can.

To make this even more interactive and fun, we've also created a contest.  Join the conversation by Following me  on Twitter.  Tell me what you’re getting rid of during the process .  Let me know  what is the most interesting, funny or victorious item you discard during your Spring Cleaning this year?  I'll select the 10 most interesting  submissions to win a copy of my new book – SHED Your Stuff, Change Your Life

So there you have it—Spring Cleaning for 2009.  Join me in taking the "55 Things You Don’t Need After All Challenge". Your life should be filled with only things that energize, fuel and inspire who you are and where you are going.  It’s time to release the old, and open up space, time and energy to pursue your dreams and goals.

Now, let’s make some space!

Hi! Yes, in Southern California where I live, the concept of spring cleaning is perhaps different than in the east, where windows are sealed shut through the winter. Today, I mentioned your book on my blog! I read it cover-to-cover, and I like to chide my partner with... "Julie says never check email in the morning!" ;-) ~Dane ( http://www.BionicButler.com )

Hi Dane- Thanks for the mention on your blog....and the nice words about my book Never Check Email in the Morning. After years of telling businesspeople they need to stop spending all day in reactive mode (checking email every 7 minutes) ...everyone is actually now paying attention--the economic turmoil and uncertainty is inspiring people to re-evaluate their priorities and work habits--and learn how to focus again. It's a happy day for me. I believe we are sitting on a wonderful moment of opportunity and innovation--if we all just develop better work habits and focus.
