Waking up late on a Sunday morning, you brew coffee, grab the paper from the front door, and head for your fluffy couch. But first you need the perfect music--ah, maybe the gently energizing, velvety voice of Norah Jones. You open the CD case and ... it's empty. Where on earth is that disc? Still in the changer? In your car? In the wrong case?

I buy so few CDs that I'm happy to say, both my husband's and mine fit in just one box. I'm fearful to start a digital collection in case it's just too addictive! (There is a small typo in your link to Jerry Osborne.)

Or do what we did, build a music server that any computer in the house can control that is tied to the house speaker system and digitize all of our CDs. Then we stored the old CDs up high on a shelf we rarely use. No, we did not then sell them, that is illegal unless we also delete the digital copies of the music. But we don't need to keep them handy and all the music is available to all machines and to all iPods and MP3 players we own.
